Introducing Two-Factor Authentication in HelpWire
We’re excited to announce that Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is now available to all HelpWire users. This highly requested security enhancement adds an extra layer of protection to your account login, helping ensure that only you, and not unauthorized parties, can access your HelpWire workspace.
Many of you had the chance to try 2FA during our quiet public beta earlier this month, and your feedback played a major role in refining the feature. Today, it’s officially live for everyone.
How 2FA Protects Your HelpWire Account
With 2FA enabled, signing in to HelpWire requires not only your password but also a time-based One-Time Password (OTP) from an authentication app on your smartphone. This significantly strengthens your login security by preventing unauthorized access, even if someone obtains your password.
HelpWire supports all major OTP apps, including:
- • Google Authenticator
- • Microsoft Authenticator
- • Authy
- • Duo
- • Okta Verify
- • 2FAS
- • …and any other TOTP-compatible app
Each login attempt requires a new 6-digit code that expires every 30 seconds, making your account far more resilient against credential theft.
How to Enable 2FA
Setting up 2FA is quick and straightforward:
- Open the HelpWire Web Portal and navigate to Account Settings → Security.
- In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, toggle the switch to enable 2FA.
- Scan the QR code using your preferred authentication app.
- Enter the One-Time Password generated by the app to confirm setup.
Once activated, HelpWire will prompt you for this verification code each time you log in, keeping your account significantly more secure.
More Authentication Methods Coming Soon
OTP is just the first step in expanding authentication options. Our team is already working on supporting additional second-factor methods in future updates, giving companies more flexibility in managing operator access and account security.
We’ll share updates as new authentication factors become available.
Your Feedback Drives Every Update
The release of 2FA is a direct result of your requests, discussions, and detailed feedback. Your input continues to shape HelpWire’s roadmap and helps us focus on the features that matter most, like strengthening the security of every account login.
Thank you for being such an active and supportive community.
